MAY ALREADY

Hi Everyone,

I cannot believe that we are already sitting in May - the time has just flown by since my last post.  As usual, I have been quite busy with my digitizing.

These African Animals are just tooo gorgeous !!

These sayings would look great on a t-shirt for that special little person in your life

The two Angel Wings above are just too gorgeous and would look great stitched out on t-shirts !!

I just love this one (above) - just look at that little puppy sleeping!!!

These are just some of the designs that I have been working on - they are all just sooooo cute.

Here in SA we have just had a really nice long weekend.  My husband, Greg and I went away without our girls for two nights to the "Africa Bike Week", which was held in Margate - South Coast.  What a lovely time we had.  It was a get together of all Harley Bike Owners and of course owners of other makes of bikes.  All I can say is, that these people know how to have a good time.  The Harleys there were unbelievable - the artwork on some of these bikes was absolutely amazing.  Makes me feel like getting a Harley - problem is that they are very expensive.  Will have to sell a lot of designs to make enough money to buy one - lol.

My two girls stayed with their Gran and had a great time there.  They were a little disappointed not to be going with us, but I believe all parents deserve some time out for themselves.

Now it is Wednesday and my youngest has gone back to school and my oldest has gone back to Varsity.  So it was up early again (6:00am) - Tayla starts school at 7:30am!!!  Just way too early after having 5 days where I could wake up whenever I wanted to and didnt have to worry about school lunches, etc.  They break up for mid-year holidays towards the end of June, so not too much longer to wait.

We are heading into Winter (damn, damn) - hate the cold.  About two weeks ago, we had a really cold spell (very unexpected), so out came all the woolies and then last week, it felt like Summer again - very strange.  Needless to say we have been having the most stunning weather - not cold, but also not that sweltering heat.  Love the weather this time of the year.

I LOVE TEACHING

I love teaching the ladies the different techniques for embroidery.
I just finished teaching some ladies who are very new to their embroidery machines.  Spoke to them about the different types of stabilizers, different needles that one uses, how to hoop and how not to hoop something.  The different techniques, ie  applique, in the hoop, fsl, etc.
Also spoke to them about how to embroider on stretch fabrics, towelling and of course showed them all how to go about it.
The ladies loved it and went away a lot more confident and inspired to try and do this by themselves.
This is not the first class that I have taught and I do follow up classes for the ladies too.
Not too long ago I had a lady who, after my class, stitched out more on her machine in a weekend than she had done in the three months that she had her machine.
I just love hearing stories like this.  My aim in these classes is to get everyone so motivated and inspired that they go home and try the things that they have learnt in class.
The weekend is almost upon us - thank goodness.  I have been very busy doing my digitizing and have some pics to show off :-

HEAT WAVE

Hi everyone.  WOW, these past few weeks have been sooo HOT !!!!  We have had temps up to 30 degrees most days and evenings.  All I can say is "AIRCON".  Thank goodness we have.


I have been busy digitizing and have some more cute designs to show you.

I have also just finished doing some easter designs.  I love easter.  Even though my girls are too big, we still love hiding the easter eggs in the garden for them (they just LOVE chocolate).


My oldest daughter loved this design so much, that she asked me to stitch it out on a t-shirt for her (see below)

I also have digitized some cute designs for those LITTLE PIRATES in your lives - these are just too gorgeous

Then there is this "EGGSTRA" cute design for Easter too :-

OR how about stitching out these really cute Spring Chicks - I have plans to stitch these out on ready made placemats with my nephews and nieces names on for our Easter Get Together.

Well this next week will be a busy one for me.  Have to prepare a lesson for my embroidery class on Friday.  The ladies are very new to machine embroidery.  I have already taught them the basics of machine embroidery ie different stabilizers, how to hoop, how not to hoop, etc.  From all the previous ladies for this class, they all say they learn such a lot and are able to go home and play.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE

I have not been posting for a while and must apologise for this, but I cannot believe how time has flown by.

My eldest daughter wrote her matric and has passed.  She starts at Varsity soon.  Another chapter in her life begins and in ours too.

Our Christmas and New Year were quiet ones this year.  I had my parents over for Christmas Day - what a lovely day it was.  So special to spend time with my loved ones.  New Years Eve was with some friends, where we had prawns and fillet steak on the braai with some yummy salads.  We saw the New Year in and were in bed by 2:00am.  

My youngest daughter has started Grade 9.  She was so happy to find that her three best friends were in the same class as her.

I have also been very busy digitizing new designs and doing some custom orders to.
